Internet shopping: Careful on cheap items
I was looking for a zoom lens (40-150mm f/3.4-4.5) for my Olympus E500 camera for some time. I had only 14-45mm lens before. Due to budget constrain, I was searching for the best price offer. On 27 June, I saw a best offer, that was with really unbelievable price i.e., US$29.87. As soon as I saw the offer on Buy.com (www.buy.com), it was ordered. However, I received only lens hood after five days from the shipper and seller Digital Foto Club (www.digitalfotoclub.com). I was surprised to receive only a part of item which was not on list and with different price than similar product listed in the internet site. My dream of buying a zoom lens collapsed.
I inquired the seller about the problem. I was told that that was the mistake in listing and the actual price of the lens was much higher. It is fine, human makes mistake. But how many times? After the first listing, in which I made the order, the item was out of stock in few hours. It was expected because the damn cheap lens would be of interest for buyers like me. When I receive the 'wrong item' the item was still out of stock. But when I check Buy.com to see if the items numbers, product id I have ordered are different, I again saw the same item with same price I ordered for. The following picture is from the site with picture and price. I am confused now. Shall I make a new order as this could be a real offer or it could be a mistake again?. If it is a mistake again, others may be the victim of buying cheap lens and receiving lens hood. One need to be careful with these sites. If they go on making mistakes repetitively, is it possible to make them deliver the offered item with the price as listed like in the picture below?
